Nielsen is present in this product to increase the affinity of GABA for its receptors.
The second year a transmitter is 5-hydroxytrytophan. This is a precursor for the neurotransmitter serotonin which is important for mood stabilization. Finally, L- glutamine, which acts on brain cells to promote sleep, has also been included.
Magnesium is also important as an ingredient. Magnesium in heavens the receptor called the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) glutamate receptor. In anxiety disorders, this receptor is highly over-active and can cause chaotic brain function.
A variety of plant compounds have also been included to support the effects of the above actions and because they have mild sedative effects. These extracts include hops, jujube lemon balm, passion flower and Rhodiola rosea.
