This review will take a look at Cetaphil Daily Moisturizer SPF 15. The manufacturer formulated this product to improve the skin’s ability to retain vital moisture. It offers a variety of benefits such as, it leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated, it protects the skin against damaging UVA and UVB rays that can cause premature lines and wrinkles.
Ingredients
Primary Ingredients:
- Avobenzone 3%
- Octocrylene 10%
Avobenzone 3% a synthetic dibenzoylmethane derivative, it works by absorbing UV rays over a wide wavelength and then converts them to less damaging infrared radiation.
Octocrylene 10% is an organic compound and ester formed by the condensation of a diphenyl cyanoacrylate with 2-ethyl hexanol (a fatty alcohol, adding emollient and oil-like, water-resistant properties), used as an active ingredient in sunscreens because of its ability to absorb UVB and short-wave UVA rays and protect the skin from direct DNA damage (not proven safe for pregnancy and may cause allergic reactions to those with sensitive skin).
For this product to be effective it should contain 10% active ingredients with a minimum of 5 patented, clinically proven ingredients such as Pentavitin, Glucare S 2%, Argireline NP, Trylagen PCB, and Stay-C 50. It should contain vitamin E and C, which contains rich antioxidant algae for conditioning and protecting the skin from free radicals that cause premature aging.
No warning is given on the product’s label for the potential dangers of Octocrylene.
Secondary Ingredients:
- Diisopropyl Adipate
- Cyclomethicone
- Glycerin

Carbomer 940 is a thickening agent. Disodium EDTA is a preservative.

A synergistic blend of ingredients for daily use should be included, such as Sweet Almond oil (has antibacterial properties and is full of vitamin A and vitamin E almond oil can be used to treat acne help to heal sun damage, reduce the signs of aging, and fade scars), and Shea Butter oil (moisturizes dry skin, treats acne and blemishes, reduces skin inflammation, acts as an anti-aging agent, provides relief to itchy and peeling skin, and restores elasticity to the skin).
